Offered here is a beautiful antique German doll made by Armand Marseille c. 1894-1900. She has a bisque head with blue glass eyes, very fine painted lashes and feathered brows, she had mohair lashes also but most of them have worn away, just a bit remains at the lids and give just an outline, her eyes are gorgeous. Her mouth is open with four teeth, dimpled chin and rosy cheeks. The head is marked on the back; \"Made in Germany/ 390/ A.8.M.\". She wears an old mohair wig in an auburn color, the mohair issewn in rows on a mesh base, short curls and front bangs, very thick, she has a newer pate on the top of the head. The head has a lot of old plaster inside and old wood fittings, no cracks. The body is composition, jointed, nice hands and the feet are good, nice finish. She bends at theelbow, knees and wrists, the old strings seem in good condition, comes with the stand. She is approximately 23\" tall without the hat or wig. The dress is beautiful, it is a vintage reproduction Bebe gown of green silk satin, the front has a doubled panel on each side, two rows of self ruffles at the hem. The dress is fully lined in a ecru satin and trimmed with black Victorian lace appliques. It has a self bow at the neck, decorative buttons in the back with working snaps underneath. The dress is cut full in the back so a bustle could be added. This is handmade and much is hand sewn, excellent vintagecondition, no stains, no tears, (in my opinion it may need a few more snaps in the back as it gaps a bit, but that is how it was made). She also wears a lovely original antique bonnet, this is made of rayon and silk with a front ruffle, ivory color, trimmed with green silk flowers and awonderfulold millinery feather with an elegant curled shape. The hat still has an original old tag attached to it.Underneathshe has ivory socks and vintage black shinny ankle strap shoes (she does not have a petticoat or panties). Fabulous large size original antique doll!
