I am very pleased to be offering for your consideration this striking antique hand-carved and hand-painted wooden sculpture of Mother Goose riding atop her goose. This is a large and heavy -- 25 lbs. 4 oz. -- piece of folk art, standing approximately 32\" tall and approximately 14 3/4\" across at the widest point. I am not certain of the age of this colorful one of a kind piece, though it does seem to have quite a bit of age to it. As with many old painted wooded carvings, it does show some signs of wear commensurate with age and use -- as pictured -- including cracks, crazing and some chips to the paint and wood -- most notably, to the tip of Mother Goose\'s nose and the goose\'s tail feathers.
