Extra fine French Limoges porcelain by Charles Ahrenfeldt for high end jeweler Mermod, Jaccard & King. Mermod, Jaccard, & King were touted as \"The Greatest Jewelry Establishment in the World.\" They sold fine quality goods to wealthy patrons of the day. Established in 1829 by Louis Jaccard with Mermod joining in 1864 they formed the largest, most famous jewelry house in the US. This is an exquisite example of their merchandise.Breathtaking displayin person.Gold in such fine condition for age. Beautiful artistry to this piece. Porcelain plate is covered in intricately hand-painted gold scrolling, swags andfinegilt decorations.Swags accented with gold flowering vines and geometricalstenciling/transfers. Vibrant clusters of multi-colored flowers, roses, daffodils, tulips in pink, yellow, purple, light blue with green leaves. So many wonderful details! Gilt bands outer and inner borders.Hand-painted gilt rim. So fine even the plate\'s footing has a gilt rim underside as shown.
