Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich, called Dietricy (1712 Weimar - 1774 Dresden) was one of the most significant German painters and engravers of the 18th century

His engravings were often in the manner of famous Dutch engravers.

This print shows an interior with a peasant family grouped around a tabel; a satyr is seated at the right end of the table, just getting up and knocking over thec stool he sat on. cavbaages on the floor to the right. Fireplace in the background to the left. In the manner of Bega. Signed and dated on the plate.His work is well represented in important museums in Germany and elsewhere

This is a rare andinteresting engraving which is about 250 years old and has survived verywell. It is printed on nice quality laid 18th C lined paper with good margins. The measurement of this sheet is aprox 158 * 200 mm or 6.2 * 8.0 inch. The image measures 140 * 168 mm or 5.8 * 6.9 inch. Verso is blank. Please check the images. This antique print is excellent for framing.
