Mettlach Beer Stein #2715 Etched and Cameo c.1901

Unusual German beer stein made by Villeroy and Boch/Mettlach around 1900. Made in mixed technique combining etched and cameo.

The etched technique was the signature technique for Mettlach beer steins - nobody else was able to mimic it with the same quality.

The cameo technique was employed by Mettlach in an obvious effort to mimic Wedgewood. The decorations are styled in Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) manner.
The stein in good condition. It is 6\" tall to the top of the thumblift, 3/10L capacity.
