A VERY GOOD QUALITY SOLID 914 SILVER WINE EWER MADE IN THE FRECH PROVINCE OF BESANCON IN 1797. THE WINE EWER OF NEOCLASSICAL DESIGN WITH RAISED WOOD HANDLE, SLENDER SPOUT AND A FACETED BULBOUS BODY RAISED ON A CIRCULAR FOOT. THE RIM OF THE BASE FULLY HALLMARKED FOR BESANCON AND THE GURANTEE MARK FOR 1797. THE MAKERS MARK IN A LOZENGE OF M HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED.
