Offering a very rare collection of 10 (ten) Royal Doulton Poppy B Pattern plates. They are nearly over a 100 years old. c.1909-1920. Each one has slight variations in the transfer design, paint and glaze, as they\'re handcrafted. There are original glazing imperfections. In exceptional condition with little to no wear. No chips or cracks in the ceramic. The colours are vibrant and fresh. There are 4(four) plates with light crazing and 6(six) with heavier crazing in the glaze. The crazing is visible on both the top and bottoms of all ten. Very few pieces of this age escape crazing in the glaze. The photos show a plate with light crazing, then another with heavier crazing and a view of the bottom side of one plate with the most visible crazing.
The pattern is classic Art Nouveau, with a bit of an Arts & Crafts influence. William Morris would have been impressed by the design.
