VERY RARE! GORGEOUS DECO STYLE OPEN SUGAR & CREAMER SET by Royal Doulton, England.
The \"POPPY\" patternhasasoft crème, almost yellowishbackground; orange and yellow poppy flowerswith green stems and leaves, ittruly is abeautiful design. What makesthis patternso special is the 30\'s deco styling with the pointed handle on creamer and the oval shape of the sugar bowl. There is also a thin green bandat the foot of thecreamer along with gilding on each piece.
This really is a wonderful set and in near perfect condition which is amazing considering it\'sjust over 80years old. The paint is still bright and the gilding on the rims of each piece, as well as the handle & foot of the creamer, is in tact except for a little rubbing on the underneath side.No cracks, nicks or even crazing however, this is a tiny mark on the gilding of the sugar bowl that I think is probably a mfg defect or maybe just a tiny nick in the gold (not the china).
Creamer - 3 3/4\"h at the spout; 3\" at the handle and about 4 1/2\"wide; Sugar is 2 1/2\"h x 4 3/4\"w
