A brothersVasily and Alexander Batashevs were a Real \"samovar kings\" in Tula before the Revolution. In 1870 at the All-Russian manufactory exhibition they received a silver medal for samovars and the organization of production. In 1883 the gold medal received at the Amsterdam exhibition. In 1885 the factory of Batashev brothers represented the largest samovars production in Tula.
They produced 11 000 samovars a year which were widely known and were in great demand.
In 1890 brothers decided to divide joint property. The right for a brand \"Brothers Vasily and Alexander Batashevy\" remained for Vasily and the right to change a brand at discretion. In 1897 after Vasily\'s death the husband of his oldest daughter took over production management. Since 1898 thefactory Vasily Batasheva began to be called \"Partnership of steam samovar factory heirs Vasily Stepanovich Batasheva in Tula.\"
This factory became the best samovar factory of Tula at the beginning of the XX century. In 1915, she released annually 120,000 samovars in the amount of 1,605,755 rubles.

MAGNIFICENT high quality Antique Russian Samovar.
The long spout has a stylized design with a very ornate solid brass spout plug.
Folkloric original vertical handles show some age. Wooden parts have some minor chips and scrapes.
Figured decorative feet.
23\'\' tall x 15\'\' width with handles.
In Excellent condition overall considering it\'s age with patina and loss of the nickelized covering in some places.
Metal is still thick and heavy. Weight of samovar 16 lb.
Inside there is a little bit rust at the bottom.
