Description: Antique, late 19th Century, Russian Empire Sterling Silver Niello
(giltinterior), 12 Goblets. Beautifully engraved with typical traditional Kubachi ornament, ona partly matted ground. Not one goblet is likeanother. All ornaments are different. Hand made in Kubachi village,Dagestan, Caucasus, Russia.
Excellent qualityand great condition. According to legend, ahelmet of Alexander of Macedon, the shield and the sword of Alexander NevskyRussian prince Mstislav were all forged there.By the 19th century it was recognized,by connoisseurs Kubachi weapons and jewelry, as a major center for theproduction in the Caucasus.
Rare collection of individualproducts, each of which is a work of art, are treasured by the world\'s majormuseums, including the State Historical Museum, as well as the Louvre museum,the Hermitage, the Metropolitan, Victoria Museum and others.
Silver Goblets
Technique & Material: Solid sterling silver casting, stamping, engraving with silver lining tube and gilding. Has abeautiful recognizable burnished ornament (niello silver ornament), and giltinside.
Marked: All twelve goblets are fullyHallmarked by Kubachi’s Silversmith “Crown- trefoil” and everyone has a Maker’spersonal mark. (Traditional Kubachi silver marks at the time of the Imperial Russia,XIX century. Figure \"875\" shall certify that the product ismade of silver 875 samples.
All parts arefully Hallmarked: Russian Woman\'s head turned to the right in theheaddress (is a city of Moscow,Russia, XIX century silver mark). And with the number \"875\"mark (875 - Silver standard). Figure \"875\" shall certify that theproduct is made of silver 875 samples.
Conditions: In Great Collectible Condition. Showing just generalwear, as expected due to use and morethan 125 years of age.

Wooden / Silver tray
Description: Antique, late 19th Century, Swiss wooden tray with Sterling Silverlining was made in Switzerland for Imperial Russian market. The wooden traybody is beautifully cut. The silver ornamental lining part is HallmarkedRussian Silver (84 standard), city of Moscow. “PT” mark is conventionallyimported goods passed through Russian Imperial Customs. (Import stigma for theyear 1888).
The inner sideof the silver lining is Hallmarked Swiss Sterling silver with the bear standingon his hind legs, left (was used to denote silver samples higher than thefigure 875).
Technique & Material: The wooden tray body, on four round legs, has an original beautifulshape and beautifully cut in dark wood. Solidsilver casting, stamping, engraving withsilver ornamental lining.
Marked: The silver part is fully Hallmarked: Withthe number \"84\" mark (84 - Silver standard) and mark in Cyrillic \"PT\" (for imported goods passedthrough Russian Imperial Customs. Import stigma for the year 1888). Figure\"84\" shall certify that the product is made of silver 84 samples, butin this case, because it also has a Swiss “Bear” mark on the inner side, theactual silver standard are higher than “875”. (Switzerland1882-1892).
