ANTIQUE SILVER FILIGREE GEORGIAN CADDY SPOON BIRMINGHAM 1801 SAMUEL PEMBERTON:
$242.69

Antique solid silver Georgian filigree caddy spoon.  It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1801 with the maker\'s mark SP for Samuel Pemberton, a fine silversmith, who is highly collected today.  The caddy spoon is delightful, with exquisite filigree silver wire work in the bowl of the spoon.  Filigree became popular in Birmingham made spoons for a period of about fifteen years at the beginning of the 19th Century, following an influx of specialist Italian filigree craftsman. As you can see there is also initial B to the handle.

The spoon weighs 10.4 grams.  It is 80mm long and the bowl of the spoon measures 35mm at it\'s widest.  I have included images all round, which I believe clearly show the condition.  Overall, it is in very good antique conditions.  The end is slightly rippled - which I am sure would completely straighten out with some flat pliers but I will leave buyer choice as to whether he wants to do that. The caddy spoon would make a superb addition to any collection.
