Vintage stick pin. Very interesting.

I cannot make up my mind about this pin.

It could be a WW11 German battleship pin or it could be from the US Coastguard ship, Eagle.

It depicts the prow of a ship with a prominent Eagle figurehead and a tiny symbol at its feet.

For example, the Graf Spee had an eagle on its bow but the USC Eagle has a similar figurehead and does have a German history.

Happy to be corrected.

Please see the photos. The pin measures about 2.25” and is round in section with a spiral.

This comes from my private collection of pins which I have selected and worn over the years. I am now gradually reducing due to retirement - and no longer wearing a tie :-).
