Stunninglysimple but has a great design and classic look.
Alovely wire handle, appears thin but it\'s sturdy, is pinched in themiddle and extends out to a circular housing for a ball or spherewhich is soldered in place and does not revolve.
Whenshaken, the ball has an incredibly lovely melodious sound, very softand tinkly with a “pebbly” undertone. A baby would find itextremely soothing.
Theoverall look is modernist and I\'m dating it to circa the 1930\'s.
It\'shallmarked on the handle, but it\'s really extremely difficult toread. My daughter has younger eyes and thinks she sees “Tiffany &Co., but I can\'t guarantee that.” What I can say is that this came from a mansion inEnglewood, New Jersey where almost everything was by Tiffany.
Thelittle treasure is in SUPERB CONDITION.
Soft,mellow finish. That luscious gleam of old silver.
NODINGS OR DENTS on the ball. Just mild, really miniscule scuffs thatold silver picks up, and one area on the ball where it looks like ababy may have actually taken a teething swipe at it. Really nothing. It was probablymore meant to be held by an adult and shaken at the baby.
