From a local estate this is a brooch or kilt pin made from a Roe buck (deer) antlers which are black and can be 2-5 inches long. Hunters throughout the Victorian era took them as trophies. The metal mounting is not marked, but it does test gold and is beautifully detailed. This pin is skillfully made, it was hard to photo to show all of the wonderful ripples and detail in the horns but it is unusually fine.

It is in good condition, spring ring closure, perfect.

It measures 3 inches in length.

Besides normal pin usage, I have seen these on Scottish kilts, fobs, as well as German hunting hats and jackets.
