Description

Stunning antique Victorian 2 piece evening or possibly wedding dress/gown, which has been produced from fine cream wool and rich cream satin. The boned bodice has high frilled neckline with bow detail to the bust, which extremely large gigot or leg of mutton sleeves. The bodice fastens to the back via a row of carved mother of pearl buttons, and steel hooks and eyes. The skirt has been produced from matching fine wool, with three vertical satin ribbon bands to the front, which terminate with bows to the hem.AGEVictorian, circa 1892-4
SIZEBodice - Length - 161/2\"Bust - 26\"Waist - 22\"Sleeve length - 21\" Skirt - Length - 40\"Waist - 22\"CONDITIONThe dress is in a good condition for age, but has suffered a little with time spent in storage. The bodice has several areas with moth holes to the wool section, with general discolouration and brown spotting in places. There is also a little fraying to the ribbon bow to the front, plus there is a large brown mark to the front of the bodice (just a bow the bow). The skirt has suffered more that the bodice, and has a considerable amount of moth moles to the wool. There is also areas with considerable brown spotting and marks to the fabric. Also as detailed the gown is not in perfect condition by any means, it is a stunning displace piece.
