The sand casting gave their finished products soft detailing.DESCRIPTIONThis listing is for an antique circa 1930 Connecticut Foundry cast iron English Setter dog bookend doorstop. Originally this piece was sand cast as one of a pair of bookends but because there is only one and the weight is nearly 2 pounds it is my opinion that this piece would function well as a doorstop. The English Setter dog is shown in a field point position with foliage underneath.The back of the casting is marked with the Connecticut Foundry triangular mark as well as the wording \"English Setter COPR 1930\".CONDITIONThis antique Connecticut Foundry English Setter dog bookend doorstop is in wonderful condition for its antique age. The surface of the cast iron is free of any bends, dents, or deep scratches. There has been some rusting on the back of the piece due to the antique age and past storage near moisture. In all likelihood this rusting could be removed with a thorough cleaning. This antique Connecticut Foundry bookend doorstop has come from from a smoke free estate collection and is odor free.~SHIPPING COSTS~ I will be shipping this item to you via United States Priority Mail insured shipping.
