Such garments were worn throughout the Ottoman empire, but I believe this one originates from Turkey or Greece. Made of lovely floral silk fabric with peach color lining (possibly newer). The woven pattern is somewhat worn down on the fabric, especially around the underarms and shoulder area. There are some small stains. Fastens with two metal buttons on the front. Dates to the end of the 19th century. Scarce.
