ARNEX alarm 17 jewel Swiss gold plated hunter cased pocket watch. Both front and back case are elaborately etched in a floral pattern. The front case opens to a sharp eighty-five degrees and the front closure snaps shut firm and secure. This is a substantial watch, at 1 7/8\" -- 48mm -- in diameter, excluding the stem and bow. There are no initials or inscriptions.
The dial is white, with black Roman numerals, black hands and a sweep seconds hand, and a fourth hand with an arrow that marks when the alarm is set. There is a second crown that sets the alarm.
The mechanical movement is currently overwound and would benefit from a professional cleaning and servicing. The movement contains the Incabloc shock absorber system characteristic of finer watches of the period.
This pocket watch is in very good cosmetic condition with only the slightest evident signs of use. I am reluctant to remove the back case for fear of damaging the case with the opener.
