ITEM: You are offerding on a spectacular antique circa 1930 marked Carl Sorenson verdigris green bronze covered bowl. This is a remarkable form more Art Deco than Arts & Crafts with an avant-garde modernist design aesthetic with a clean art deco streamlined machine age design aesthetic.
Carl Sorenson, working in Philadelphia at the turn of thecentury, was noted for his Arts & Crafts styled metalwares.He typically worked in copper with occasional pieces in bronze.His hand-hammered desk accessories and decorative pieces are easilyrecognized by their verdigris patina commonly accented by incisedand highlighted lines. In fine condition top exhibits one miniscule dent along the outer edge that makes it a tiny bit \"out of round\" more than an indentation.
