This beautiful lamp is the very essence of Art Deco, titled \"LUEUR LUMINEUSE de Max LE VERRIER\" or \"LIGHT GLOW of Max LE VERRIER\". She has 3 sister lamps, the most famous is a life size \"CLARITY\", as well as another lamp by the same name, not life size, and \"LUMINA\". All feature the same female figure with different bases of various sizes. This lamp is 15\" tall in excellent condition with black braided cloth cord, switch and plug (U.K. fixtures), adapters are available here on for next to nothing. It is signed Le Verrier and has the Max Le Verrier foundry mark as pictured.The History of this Gorgeous figure is as follows, with \"CLAIRITY\" being the original. In 1928, Max LE VERRIER performs his famous \"CLARITY\" woman at the ball, flare 1930, taking up the idea of the ancient goddess of light symbolizing the time both by her hair \"like a boy \"and by the sobriety of its line.He created in his small workshop to a live model: in fact there have been three different models, one for the head, another to the chest and a leg: it was for the latter, d a black American ballet of JOSEPHINE BAKER.This piece was featured in the exhibition \"LIGHT \" in the center Georges Pompidou from May to August 1985 and in 1987 in the exhibition \" MADE IN FRANCE \" at HARROD\'S in London and in the exhibition \"MASTER\'S HAND\" at Big palace. She was also exposed to the Hotel Martinez in Cannes in 2000.Two copies can be admired today in the grand salon of the Hotel Lutetia in Paris.
