This is for anice example of anold Victorian travelling inkwell in the form of a world globe. It dates circa 1880 and has its original coverwhish is nmade from strips that run down over the body of the inkwell and there is aconcealed button on the front that flips open the lid when pushed. Inside is another catch that opens the inner lid to theglass inkwell, this inner lid has a little stanhope affixed on the top .It hasits originalglass inkwell inside, this is removable and under the lid is a spring loaded stopper to seal it whilst in transit. It is all in A1 excellent condition with no splits or wear in the leather,no chips or cracks to the glass....it really isone of the best I\'ve seen.The base measures 83mm (3.25\")by 37mm (1.3\") and it stands 33mm (1.25\") high.Please check out all the otherdesktop inkwells and other vintage gentlemans & ladies accessories we are selling on this week.
