Here is an authentic and fine looking Kachina from about 1970, a HOPI AYA OR RUNNER KACHINA, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION - A WELL CARVED / PAINTED NATIVE AMERICAN COTTONWOOD KATSINA CARVING. A very collectible Hopi Katsina Doll, which is made from solid Cottonwood. This Kachina was made by an expert HOPI maker, and is is part of an estate collection from Santa Barbara.

LOW START FOR FINE KACHINA WHICH IS IN PRIMO TO MINT CONDITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is afine looking Kachina, with a great overall workmanship, original paints, and expert overall carving. He is made from Cottonwood standing, at about 9 1/2\" tall(not including feathers on head), and 4\" wide at fists. This Runner is in Excellent Condition! Accoutrements are original, and no notable damage.This Kachina, as you can see from the pics, displays extremely well and is a handsome and collectible piece of Native America.

The body is carved from a piece of the traditional Cottonwood - a tree that grows in washes and canyons where water is more HERE IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A AYA OR RUNNERKACHINA - THE RUNNERS RACE SO THE WATER WILL RUN DOWN THE ARROYOS IN THE SPRING. THEY CARRY YUCCA STICKS AND MAY BEAT THE SLOWEST WITH carved and painted by a master Hopi Kachina carver/maker - Hopituh Shimunuh - AYA!!!
