This is the famous Rail Splitter medal. This would grade MS if not for the verdigris. Sharp with nice color. The verdigris is not as distracting in hand, but this is an important enough medal that the buyer should have it conserved. (If this doesn\'t sell it goes to NCS for evaluation.) The surfaces have been affected. Listed by Sullivan as AL-1860-3 and by King as #3 (#2 has the axe handle even with the top of the fence).41mm. Copper.
