Absolutely Gorgeous Circa 1764 Pair Case Verge Fusee Chain Drive Pocket Watch :

This beautiful, 14 size (51 mm outer case, 42 mm diameter inner case, 33 mm diameter movement), fine silver pair case is in excellent condition. The watch works, but runs fast, and I don\'t know how to slow it down. The serial number, 9055, is engraved on the movement and stamped inside the case, along with assay office mark, the standard mark denoting silver case, and the date letter mark. The date letter mark is hard to read, but we believe it denotes 1764, which is in the range of this particular style of movement. The movement is a beautiful piece of art work, with hand pierced balance bridge cock, beautifully styled Egyptian pillars with hand pierced ornament between. It has a gorgeous \"porcelain\" dial in mint condition, with absolutely no hairline cracks or flaws.The watch works perfectly and just keeps on ticking. The case is in fine condition with no obvious flaws, scratches or dings. The watch is a key wind and set model, extremely early, English made Verge Fusee, top grade, amazing chain drive pocket watch. All hallmarks match on both cases, along with the serial number on escapement. A beautiful, 250 year old work of art.
