For sale is this absolutely stunning Gebr. Friedland 800 (80%) Silver Platter from the late 1800s to early 1900s.
The tray is massive, weighing 4.4 pounds and measuring 25 7/8th inches in length and 11 1/8th inches wide. It is 3/16th inches in thickness!
It is marked \"Gebr. Friedlander\" with the Crescent and Crown symbol followed by \"800\". It also etched with \"500-541\".There is a crest mark (looks like a cross and star,with acrown on the top). I do not know what/who thiscrest is for.
It is in stunning condition, with very little wear and only ultra fine surface scratches normal with an item carefully used and of this age. I have tried to take photos that show the tray surface asbest possible so pleasestudy photos carefully (see photos 8, 9, and 10).There are no issues (cracks, repairs needed, etc...). Please study photos for condition and don\'t hesitate to send a note if you need more detail before offerding or purchasing.
This is an ultra rare and substantial piece beckoning to the days of German silversmiths of the late 1800\'s and early 1900\'swhere such pieces were made for the ultra wealthy andelite. Antique pieceslike this are very hard to find.
