An extremely rare piece of Naval History - just 357 made and a handful of survivors known today

Pierced for suspension, as all examples appear to be. Over the last 10 years also this medal has been recognised as the rare piece of history that it is. Each of the 357 medals made were presented to actual survivors of Nelsons Naval conflicts still alive in 1845 - each of these medals were owned by Nelsons Sailors.
Only one is recorded having been saleed in recent years, at Baldwins for £600 + Fees (around £750) in 2010. A second example is up for sale this May, also at Baldwins - this will be the third offered for public sale. Indeed, if this medal does not sell by the end of May then it will appear at Baldwins Coinex sale in October later this year. This example is actually the nicest grade of one I have yet seen.
A rare opportunity to own a fantastic piece of Naval history.
