These adorable ornaments will charm you completely! Each one is handcarved in soapstone and then hand painted in whimsical colors and designs. They make perfect tree decorations of course, but are also great for small gifts, collecting, or just casually posing around the home and office. Choose from Christmas trees, angels, stars, doves, bells, hearts, and moons. Please note that price is for ONE ORNAMENT ; several are shown to illustrate the designs available. Be sure to give a first and second choice when ordering; if you have a strong preference, you may wish to email us to ensure availability beforehand. Soapstone can be found throughout the world in different varieties. In Kenya, it is usually termed kisii stone. The naturally pale ivory or pink stone is carefully worked with whatever tools are available: screwdrivers, hand drills, switchblades, and sandpaper. The finishing touches are added by expert painters. These particular little artworks were created by the artisans of the SMOLArt cooperative in Tabaka, Kenya. These Fair Trade pieces bring their creators a decent wage and allow the traditional crafts to continue to flourish!
