There are two pieces in this listing.
The first is a carved wooden mask, painted and adorned with a fabric headpiece and neck cowl.
The other item is fully stitched colorful cloth tightfitting suit.
A wide variety of maskes are found in the Igbo culture.
This stunning hand-made Agbogho mmwo, or \"maiden spirit\", outfit is worn by men at festivals and represents the Igbo ideal of femaile beauty:
small, balanced features, elaborate hairstyles, and delicate tattoos.
The men who dance in agbogho mmwo masks wear the colorful, tight-fitting fabric costumes, entertaining the crowd with exaggerated versions of women\'s dances.
This suit has obviously been worn and shows some wear at the zipper areas and hem.
There are some small stained areas.
The mask has a damaged spot near the temple as shown in the pictures.
The suit measures 56-1/2\" total length.

20\" from shoulder to cuff
17\" across the chest at the armpits
17\" across the hips at the crotch.
