A rare art deco APL wall clock from around 1947.
Aircraft Patents Ltd started around 1913 and are still going today. They are known to have exhibited a clock at a trade fair in 1947. I think they made aircraft dials and gauages primarily.
This one has its original box and wiring with no plug so not tested. Classic pale green and cream painted enamel on metal finish. Some Bakelite parts inside.
The image on the label to the lid of the box looks to be 1940s, very traditional, not retro at all. The octagonal shape of the clock is more deco than retro and will sit in a deco theme.
Measures 8.5 inches across. In very good condition with only minor mark to flex inset, some scratching at the back where hung. Very close to mint condition.
Not tested, no plug, original flex. Sold as decorative.
Rare and stylish piece, possibly belongs in a museum ? good luck.
