Offered for sale: This gorgeous antique victorian brass(?), gilt & gesso frame is a work of art! It does show it\'s age, considerably, as should be expected with something that is 150+ years old. There are many places where the gesso has come off, as well as huge missing chunks, gaps, nicks, etc. It was purchased at an estate sale with two other victorian frames. One of them (NOT this one) had newspaper from 1860 on the back of it. So I would date this frame to the mid 1800\'s. Overall measurements are: 25 1/2 x 29 1/2 inches. Canvas/painting opening is approximately 16 x 20 1/4 inches. Warning:shipment/mailing could cause further damage this extremely fragile and old item.
