This is a really unique antique old Victorian pin or brooch that consists of a wonderful oval cabochon goldstone glass piece that is set on a brass frame with a c clasp closure. Perhaps an early French or German jewelry piece.

Goldstoneis a type of glittering glassmade in a low-oxygen reducing atmosphere. The finished product can take a smooth polishand be carvedinto beads,figurine orother artifacts suitable for semipreciousstone, and in fact goldstone is often mistaken for or misrepresented as a natural material.
