Description:American Sterling silver calling or business card case by R Blackington of Attleboro US.

I undertand there is little known about this maker but he was obviosly agreat card case maker.

the case is gorgeous with a pair of rampant lions beasts either side of a cartouche with stylised flowing intials. The case is beautifully engraved with scrolling & has aguilded interior. the makers mark & sterling mark are inside the case on the lip of the base & can only be seen when opened up.

Measurements: the case measures 8.2 cms long & 4.5 cms high

Weight: 43.7 gram

Hallmarks: 865 Sterling silver with amakers mark that has a B with a sword through it being themark of R. Blackinton & Co. of North Attleboro, MA -Founded 1862 and continued until 1967.
