This large antique hand wrought Dividers/Callipers or Compass I think date to the 18th or early 19th century , they are made of hand wrought steel or iron and have loads of patina with age as shown in the photos, there are impressed initials WF and in point punch initials DS in old type script, these dividers were possibly used for map reading on board a ship or for working on plans etc , the compasses measure 11.75 inches diameter and in good condition just general minor wear and tear consistent with age as seen
