Mughal Islamic metalwork -dating from the 17th/18th century.
Of heavy sectional construction, cast in bronze. The base section incorporates a threaded coupling - the thread corresponding with an opening to the tapering shaft. The shaft is cast with baluster and collar form embellishment.
The lamp platform at the upper extreme incorporates seven \'V\' form projections to the oil reservoir, allowing wicks to be located.
The final images above, detail an area of the base section, (upper collar type embellishment), showing a sanskrit inscription.Overall height - 12 1/16\" (307mm).
Weight - 1,841 grams.

Condition - Very Good, (untouched). Minor surface marks, (consistent with genuine age and usage). Fine natural colour and patina.
