Islamic metalwork -dating from the beginning of the 20th century.
Of hand raised wrought brass construction, and of tapering baluster form. The neck is double walled - a secondary collet extends internally below the rim.
The vase is finished with chiseled trailing water flower, in the manner of a complex floral vine. The complex form of the vine is free flowing, the areas between the stems and blossom pierced with hand cut fret-work. The pierced work is central to the vessel - corresponding bands of chased floral motifs are positioned above and below.
Circular cartouches are engraved with kufic script - alternating with circular lozenges containing stylised animals. The neck is also inscribed.Overall height - 6 3/8\" (162mm).

Condition - Good. A small area of missing fret-work, (image 4) and very minor surface marks and bruises, (consistent with genuine age and usage). No repairs. Natural colour and patina.
