8475 Japanese Kutani Miniature Vase

Description

A fine quality antique Japanese Kutani ware vase (Meiji period). It is of porcelain body and exquisitely painted with repeating cell and diaper bands in spiral form. It features traditional colours and raised gilt work along with a dark brown rim.

Internally it is painted with text which must had been a real feat due to the small size of the piece, some of the images capture this for you. To the underside is a painted character mark that we have been unable to trace thus far.

A super example with exquisite detail and high quality good for period, the wear is very minor. Some roughness to the underside of the feet.
