From an old Dutch glass collection I’moffering an very small Dutch or English hand blown green onion bottle around1700. A normal onion bottle of this type measures around 7½”/8\"(19/20 cm), but thisone only measures 6” (15 cm). This rare type of bottle is called a ¾ onionbottle in the Netherlands and was used for liquor instead of wine. Onionbottles of this seize are very hard to find. The quality of the bottle is almostperfect, there is a minor chip on the neck (probably from removing the cork)and a very small chip on the underside. Because the bottle was excavated, theglass is looks quite dull and the underside shows some wear, the glass containsa lot of small bubbles, the bottle has a very nice pontil scar and anoverlapping rim. The bottle was excavated in Delft several years ago. The last photo is just to show the difference in seize with a normal onion bottle. You\'re only offerding on the small bottle on the left.
