An exceptionally fine quality bronze Hindu Goddess Lakshmi oil lamp (dipa)Excellent casting and detail.This lamp has been used in a Hindu ritual worship and shows the patina of both age and use.Traces of red vermillion puja powder placed on the image as an offering during ritual worship.Although an antique piece it could still be used in worship; a piece of cotton wick is placed within the bowl the Goddess is holding and then the bowl filled with sesame oil (known as \'Gingelly oil\' in India) and the wick lit.
