The card case is beautifully detailed with an intricate engine turned design to the front and back with shaped chased/engraved edges; and there is a pretty shaped (note: blank) cartouche. The case is fully Assay marked which has no wear, having the maker:- GU (George Unite), Date stamped:- 1879, & Birmingham (see photo 5).
The leather case has gold tooled edging to the lid and a strong brass press button catch release. Internally the case is lined in valor and satin. Please take time in studying the photographs provided in order to gain an appreciation of this lovely investment item.The condition of the silver case is excellent with no damage, dints or wear and the closing hinge is fine and is not lose. The leather carrying case is also in excellent condition having no damage. The condition of this item is so good I wonder if it has ever been used ? but obviously I cannot be certain or confirm this.
The silver card case measures 50mm wide x 80mm high x 6mm thick.
