THIS IS A VESTA SOVEREIGN CASE HAS THE FUNCTION OF CARRYING MATCHES AND SOVEREIGNS.

All outer surfaces of this piece are plain surfaced without any blemish or deformity. No surface scratches or markings with lovely polished surfaces throughout. A REAL BONUS in a plain surfaced example.

Briefly the vesta half is of traditional style, the top flips opens on the normal spring loaded system to reveal clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1900 on the inner lip. The vesta lid closes cleanly with a reassuring \'click\'. The other side has the traditional sovereign case compartment. The hinged lid opens on pressing the release top button, the lid closes with a reassuring \'click\'.

Inside both sections everything is in A1, in the sovereign section the coin tray is well supported by the spring. As well as the full hallmarks on the vesta compartment lip (see inset picture) there are hallmarkings on the inner lid of the sovereign compartment, and sovereign holder rim too. The grill to the vesta lid top is in excellent condition with no signs of use.

A delightful piece, it can hold 4 sovereigns (not included in the price) IT IS 115 YEARS OLD AND it certainly deserves at least another 100 years of careful and treasured ownership!

This rare item of silver has no bumps, dints scratches, miss shapes or buckles. Everything is fully funtional, a super example.

Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1900. (The marks of a lion passant to confirm sterling silver quality, Anchor for Birmingham assay office and date low case \'a\' for 1900).
