Mughal Islamic metalwork -dating from the 18th / 19th centuries.
A heavy baluster form bronze hookah, the base resting on a broad and flared circular foot - this example of small \'travelling\' form. The waisted neck incorporates a broad central flange, with small baluster ring below. The rim at the opening is finished with a chiseled petalled band - a corresponding, but inverted, band is incorporated below the neck embellishments.
The remaining surface area is also finished with chiseled decoration - the decoration includes scrolling floral forms and stylised lotus flower heads and petals. This example has retained the original tinned finish to the surface.Overall height - 6 1/4\" (159mm).

Condition - Very Good. No dents or repairs. Fine natural colour and patina
