East Java, Indonesia -dating from the second half of the 19th century.
Cast using the \'lost wax\' process, of classic form and design.
The baluster form rests on an integral stepped and flaring raised circular foot. Cast raised ring form decoration creates recessed bands of embellishment. The surfaces are finished with chiseled and chased decoration - the decoration of scrolling floral form, divided by panels of geometric \'hooked cross\' engraving.
This good example shows signs of genuine age and usage.Overall diameter - 8 1/4\" (210mm), height - 5 3/16\" (132mm).

Condition - Very Good. The usual casting flaws, detailed by the additional images above. No major dents and no repairs. Fine natural colour and patina.
