Mughal India -dating from the 19th century.
A hand constructed brass ewer of baluster form, resting an applied broad circular foot. The vessel is horizontally \'castle\' seamed and burnished - the surface finished with bands of simple ring turning.
The applied handle is of highly stylised dragon form - the upper extreme incorporates the cover hinge fulcrum. The cover is of convex form, finished with punched and chiseled decoration. A shaped knop, with decorative rose is centrally mounted at the upper extreme of the cover. The scrolling panel sided spout incorporates the head of a second highly stylised dragon at the opening.
Overall height - 10 1/4\" (260mm).
Condition - Very Good, (untouched). No cracks and no repairs. Natural colour and patina.
