For sale an ancient fossilbone Eskimoshamans figure. Nice elongated figure withgreen oxidised copper inset eyes; very characterfull face and body. I believe this is from the Eskimocultureor the Inuit or Siberia. It seems (patine) that this piece was excavated and is made from the fossilized bone of some creature. Bought years agoout of aprivate collection of a wealthy Greek (from which I also had a very oldMarquesas toggle). He had bought it fromthe wife of a deceased British naval captain.Estimated surely pre 1900\'s (1800?)

Condition;excellent, it has some dent in the head but I believe it is natural. Maybe it had hand and/or feet at some time? Damaged when excavated? But it doesnt seem so as it slopes down \'naturally\'. Measures;L.19 x3.8cm
