A brass hemispherical bowl with incised script and figures that incorporates magic numbers and pious invocation verses. Centred by a script engraved boss, the interior wall decorated with 18 petal-shaped figures with script within; above them, a channel and narrow rim decorated with more script. The outer wall decorated with 12 circles containing zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motifs representing the astrological zodiac signs, and which are interconnected by 12 diamond-shaped figures with script found within. The wall originally pierced and would have hold key counts.
Museum quality and with solid provenance; the bowl was authenticated genuine by the British Museum Middle East studies department.
