Ancient Persian Luristan Bronze Age Battle Dagger / Short Sword Weapon - 1200 Bc For Sale

A beautifullypreserved highqualityancient PersianBronze Age short sword, dating to approximately 1200 - 800 B.C.

This magnificent ancient weapon has a beautiful malachitepatina. It is cast in one piece, with fanned pommel and recessed and pierced hilt; whichwould have once been decorated with wood or bone inlays, now perished.

The piece is not significantly deformed, in contrast to the majority of weapons of this type now available on the market.

This dagger would originally have formed part of the burial contents of a wealthy Persian Warrior. The Bronze Age peoples of ancient Persia, were a warrior-society who were expert metal-workers.

Length of weapon:11 1/2inches.

Condition: Unrestored.Beautiful patina. A particularly fine and well preserved example with one fo the original rivets remaining.
