An ancient Sassanian Persian hand carved carnelian agate intaglio which has been set into an old hand made silver ring. The intaglio is a portrait of a Sassanian warrior & was probably his personal seal. The ring itself may not be contemporaneous to the seal but was it is possible or was made sometime in the early to mid- Islamic periods 700 AD - 1600 AD. See pictures.
The ring is ~size 10. The intaglio is approximately 19mm diameter. Weight ~ 15.0 grams.
Itaglio was made during Sassanian Persian Empire but exact time period of is unknown but generally between 225 -651AD.
