Andrew Jackson - Document Signed as Document Signed (DS) as President, “Andrew Jackson,” one page on vellum, 10.5’’ x 14.5’’, September 17, 1833. Scalloped-top ship’s pass issued to the “Ship Marcus of Fairhaven ... master or commander of the burthen of two hundred six & 23/95 tons or thereabouts mounted with no guns navigated with 22 men To Pass with her Company Passengers Goods and Merchandize without any hinderance seisure or molestation the said Ship appearing by good testimony to belong to one or more of the Citizens of the United States and to him or them only.” Counter-signed by Edward Livingston as Secretary of State. Document has been matted and framed for presentation to an overall size of 13\'\' x 17.5\'\'. In Very Good condition, with intersecting storage folds, two of which cross through Jackson’s signature, and scattered wrinkling. The ink on the printed document has some contrast, which is typical for vellum documents of this age. Notwithstanding, Jackson\'s signature is bold and large, measuring almost 6\'\' across. The white seal is intact and in magnificent condition.
