It measures 5 inch across and is 6 inch high. The movement is in mint condition as is the box.If you go to Musicalwonderhouse.com you can see that these are listed for $425. The pictures show that this one is in very good condition and since I have taken this one apart to look inside I can tell you that the movement is mint. These are no longer in production, so you can only get these as an used item.
Some of the Anri carvings are a combination of wood and composite material. On an average, it takes about three months to create an ANRI figure. The process begins with the purchase of 80 year old maple trees from plantations in France. Only the best and healthiest trees are selected and only about 20% of these meet the ANRI standards. These logs are air dried for up to 3 years and then cut into blocks which are kiln dried to reduce moisture to 10%. Woodcarver Oswald Moroder founded the shop in the year 1937. This is the reason why these boxes are so sought after and are so pricey.
