For sale is an Ansonia Double Statue clock titled “Muse and Poetry”. Circa 1894, this open escapement clock has an eight day movement striking a gong on the hour and half hour. Dimensions are 20 ¾” tall and 20 ½” wide. The catalog image is found in Tran Duy Ly’s book “Ansonia Clocks and Watches” page 153, number 483. The clock is in excellent condition retaining about 70% of the original gold wash finish.The statues are complete with no obvious signs of cracks or old repairs. The clock case and ornaments are in good condition and complete. There appears to be an old repair to the decoration on the urn at the top of the clock.The black enameled finish on the base looks original with some lifting paint and scratches. The glass bezel, two piece porcelain dial and bezel show no flaws.The clock runs and strikes well. This clock is offered in as found condition from the estate of a relative. Please examine the pictures for the best description. This clock is heavy and will be shipped insured and dismantled down to the four major components.
